Growth Factor Injections
Growth factor injections involve using specially designed compounds containing special ingredients which target specific cells in the body. This provides them with the stimulus needed to grow or repair. For example, at NuaCell we use a compound containing Copper Peptides, which have been shown to elongate the anaphase, or active growth phase, of a hair follicle. Consequently, this means the hair is growing for longer, and spends less time in the dormant or ‘sleep’ phase.
A dermaroller is a small roller containing tiny titanium spikes which create micro-punctures in the skin. The body’s response to this damage is to start a ‘healing cascade’ and release growth factors in the area for repair. This serves to stimulate growth in skin and hair cells in the area, stimulating collagen production, growing hair, and generally improving the health of the tissue. The benefit of a dermaroller is the ability to stimulate this cascade regularly on a small scale by yourself in between stimulation treatments. It is important to note that, when used improperly, these rollers do possess the potential to cause damage or scarring, so proper education on use and application is essential.
